Geographic Solutions offers a quick, simple way for educational institutions to create a powerful online job search system to provide students and job seekers the ability to view all jobs posted on the Internet in ONE location. The system provides fast access to a complete set of employment tools and nationwide access to full and part-time jobs, internships, temporary jobs, green jobs, and more.
Virtual Career Center is designed to be comfortable for everyone, even the person who has little computer experience - users simply point and click through the online services. Features to help job seekers and students within the system include:
The system offers the most comprehensive and high quality job aggregation capability available today. This far exceeds that of any current private or public job board. Job postings are updated nightly from the following sources listed here.
All job postings are processed to a default template to display job order details uniformly, regardless of the proprietary format, methodology, technology, or file location used to initially post the job. This creates a consistent display of job order information for the job seeker.
Job order details include employer, job title, job description, worksite location, testing requirements, type of job (full-time, part-time, etc.), job duration, job duties, special software/hardware skills needed, minimum education needed, special driver's license requirements, compensation and hours, benefits, and other information.
In addition, job seekers can view up-to-date, real-time labor market information (LMI) as well as historical LMI. And since the system accurately assigns most aggregated jobs an O*NET-SOC code, students can view job-specific labor market information and key O*NET-SOC data such as abilities, tasks, and interests; as well as detailed profiles of the labor market related to occupations, industries, and geographic areas, which help them make informed decisions about appropriate careers to explore.
For college career centers who work closely with employers, optional employer modules are available. The Employer Module allows employers to post job openings, review labor market information and access current employment/HR resources. Employers can also manage the hiring process with multiple capabilities, such as reviewing candidate resumes, creating and storing candidate searches with the Virtual Recruiter, ranking candidates, and communicating with applicants using the system.
